App Privacy Policy

This policy applies specifically to the Freedom Trip Advisor Android application, package name com.freedomtripadvisor.app, provided by Freedom Route Transportation LLC.
Overview
Freedom Trip Advisor is a rideshare decision-support tool. It analyzes ride-offer information displayed on the user's device, applies vehicle-expense settings and profitability targets entered by the user, and displays an estimated Accept, Maybe, or Decline recommendation. The driver always makes the final decision.
Screen capture and offer analysis
When the user starts live offer detection, Android requests permission to capture the screen through the operating system's MediaProjection feature. Captured screen frames are processed on the device to recognize visible ride-offer information such as pay, pickup time and distance, trip time and distance, and destination text when available. This processing is used to calculate the recommendation requested by the user.
Live screen frames are not transmitted by Freedom Trip Advisor to Freedom Route Transportation or sold to third parties. The current beta uses on-device text recognition. Screen capture stops when the user stops live detection, closes the floating advisor, or Android ends the capture session.
Optional offer screenshots
The user may separately enable “Save offer screenshots.” When enabled, the app saves one screenshot for each confirmed new offer to a folder selected by the user on the device. These files may contain rider names, locations, maps, addresses, or other personal information visible on the offer screen. Screenshots remain under the user's control on the device unless the user independently shares, backs up, or synchronizes them. The feature is optional and can be turned off at any time.
Information stored on the device
The app stores settings entered by the user, including vehicle information, operating-cost estimates, profitability targets, tax-reserve percentage, screenshot preference, and selected screenshot folder. It also stores a local offer history, including detected offer details, estimated expenses, recommendations, and whether the user marked a ride as accepted. These records are stored locally on the device in application preferences and a local database.
Overlay and notification permissions
The app requests permission to display a floating advisor over other applications. It also uses an Android foreground service while live detection is active and may display an ongoing notification required by Android. These permissions are used only to provide the app's visible live-advisor functions.
Information shared by the user
If the user chooses “Email beta feedback or report an issue,” the app opens an email application with a message addressed to Freedom Route Transportation. The user chooses what to write and must send the message themselves. Information included in that email is received and used to respond to feedback, provide support, and improve the app.
Information we do not collect through the current beta
Freedom Trip Advisor does not require an account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or a cloud database. Freedom Route Transportation does not receive the user's locally stored expense settings, history, screen frames, or optional screenshots through the app's current beta functionality.
Data sharing and sale
We do not sell or rent app data. We do not share captured screen content, local offer history, or vehicle-cost settings for advertising or marketing. Information voluntarily sent by email may be processed by the user's email provider and our email service provider under their respective terms.
Data retention and deletion
Locally stored app information remains on the device until it is cleared through Android settings, removed by uninstalling the app, or deleted through an available in-app function. Optional screenshots must be deleted by the user from the selected folder or device backup. Feedback emails are retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, document reported issues, improve the app, and satisfy legitimate business or legal needs. A user may request deletion of information previously sent directly to us by contacting the address below.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the current on-device design. No device, storage system, or electronic communication can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should protect access to their devices and carefully review whether optional screenshots should be saved or backed up.
Children
Freedom Trip Advisor is intended for adult drivers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date will be revised when material updates are published. Any future feature that transmits or synchronizes app data will be disclosed before it is introduced.
